Hooray for Progressive!
I have to give a shout out to Progressive. This weekend I got into a stupid accident when I rear ended somebody at an intersection. I was at the back of a row of cars at a red light. The light turned green, the cars started going and apparently the 2nd or 3rd car (I was behind the 3rd or 4th) was turning left. I was momentarily distracted enough by trying to reconcile all of “Do I need to turn on Pine or Pike?” while trying to see the street sign telling me whether I was at Pine or Pike and in doing so I didn’t realize that the Ford Explorer in front of me had stopped.
But boy, oh, boy did I get the message when their bumper abruptly stopped my car hood from going forward! I had a couple thoughts like “I can’t believe I just did that” and “I hope there isn’t damage” (from what I could see, the Explorer seemed fine). But after pulling over I could see that despite the Explorer seeming OK, my hood definitely was not. It’s amazing how much damage I sustained and how little they appeared to.
Anyway - the *good* news is that after calling Progressive and talking it over with my adjuster, I think I’m going to be covered for anything beyond my $250 deductible! Yay! This is especially good news because while I have no real idea how much it’s going to cost to fix my car, I am fairly positive it’s going to be far, far more than that deductible. More updates to come (if I continue to post in my blog, that is).

Wow, didn’t realize how long it had been since you’d posted on your blog, but quite a while.
I like Progressive because we’ve gotten rate quotes from probably 5 other providers, and no one even comes close. We get some “good driver” discount because neither of us has ever had any traffic violations, so if we ever mess that up our rate will go up, but I’m digging the money we save because of it.
I like the old family scans on Flickr…cool!

Progressive *had* been great for me for the same reason, but I bet that’s about to change. Regardless, I dropped my hooptie off at their claims center today and felt like they handled all that super well, too.
