Language and “man candy”
There’s this hole in the wall deli in Seattle - Salumi - that sells various types of salami. A friend refers to these as “man candy” and following an exchange between two coworkers, I realized that there’s an interesting limitation in the English language around noun usage in different contexts.
It sounds kind of funny (”ha-ha”) to say “Hey Kris, do you want to go to Salumi and get some man candy?” It sounds funny (”not ha-ha”) in a context like “Hey, would you like some of my man candy?”
