Resolutions - running
Running has obviously been one of the top things on my mind for the past six months or so, so it’s probably no surprise that some of my first resolutions have to do with it. Some are more goals than resolutions but it all sort of fits together.
- I resolve to occasionally let myself see other runners while I’m out and not think to myself that I need to catch and pass them. This will probably still happen anyway, but if I’m trying to put in easy miles, the pace of others around me shouldn’t be part of my routine at all.
- I resolve to follow a schedule that should get me on track for a sub-18 minute 5K. This equates to a certain time in my running club’s 2 mile time trials that I would also be happy with, but the 5K is the target.
- I resolve to run another marathon without throwing up on the course. I’ll probably only get one shot at this, though, so I hope I make it!
I think that’s enough for now and about the right set of areas to prioritize. At least within running, which is really probably not the top area I need to focus on, but it’s a start.
