Seattle half marathon - short version
As usually happens when I start talking about running, my recap of last Sunday’s Seattle half-marathon got a little long-winded. Here’s the short version.
- Weather was awesome
- I ran as a pacer for the 6:52 minute mile group in the half-marathon - this was super fun since I’ve never paced before but made me nervous since I’ve never paced before. Or run a half-marathon in under an hour and a half.
- I was off the hook as pacer after the first half of the race (when G-Money took over as official pacer) but I stuck with the group
- I finished with my co-pacer and a few others who started with us in just under 1:30 and official times are finally up - my chip time was 1:29:29 which is about 1:45 better than my previous best half-marathon time and a pace of about 6:49 per mile.
- The half course is challenging but really pretty good and I’d do it again - I probably would not run the full marathon
- Racing is still really fun and it’s always great to meet the other people in the race and see friends participating.
I think that’s the long and short of it.
