Vista, no lo comprendo…

Candidate for worst error ever.

STEPS - on Vista:

  1. Start > run > cmd [enter]
  2. alt+space > Properties
  3. right click any control > “What’s this?”

RESULT:

Why can’t I get Help from this program?

The Help for this program was created in Windows Help format, which was used in previous versions of Windows and it is not supported in Windows Vista.

EXPECT:

The operating system to not be moderately less utterly stupid about its own documentation.

Seattle half marathon - short version

Finisher certificate, originally uploaded by Peru Tha Damaja.

As usually happens when I start talking about running, my recap of last Sunday’s Seattle half-marathon got a little long-winded. Here’s the short version.

  • Weather was awesome
  • I ran as a pacer for the 6:52 minute mile group in the half-marathon - this was super fun since I’ve never paced before but made me nervous since I’ve never paced before. Or run a half-marathon in under an hour and a half.
  • I was off the hook as pacer after the first half of the race (when G-Money took over as official pacer) but I stuck with the group
  • I finished with my co-pacer and a few others who started with us in just under 1:30 and official times are finally up - my chip time was 1:29:29 which is about 1:45 better than my previous best half-marathon time and a pace of about 6:49 per mile.
  • The half course is challenging but really pretty good and I’d do it again - I probably would not run the full marathon
  • Racing is still really fun and it’s always great to meet the other people in the race and see friends participating.

I think that’s the long and short of it.

Going to the darklands

This is all kinds of awesome - it’s just missing Dave Kendall and I could convince myself I’m back in high school. Or the Night Flight lady and it would be junior high.
