cheap bicycle messenger bag

for a while i’ve kept bungee cords in my bike’s rack sack. these are super handy for a number of things including, i just learned, turning my shoulder laptop bag into a bicycle messenger bag.

  1. shorten the bag strap so it hangs a little past your elbow
  2. cross the strap to the far shoulder from the bag and hang the bag over your back so the strap crosses your chest
  3. attach one end of the bungee cord to the strap hook by your elbow
  4. thread the free bungee end under the strap on your chest, back to the strap hook where the other end is attached and hook it there, too

that’s it! now bring that laptop home and squeeze one more work day out of the week!

Why does Real networks hate pandas?

all i want is to be able to watch the dc zoo pandacam on my phone - is that so much to ask?

real networks’ website claims to be “new and improved”. but if you have a mobile device this means “broken and frustrating” in different ways. first - you can’t get the player. without an audience who can play real content, real has no business so you might think it would be near impossible to visit real.com without them forcing the player on you. instead, the (pocketpc) mobile version of the site is graphics heavy (hello, dumbasses-if i have to wait for your “music” icon to download, i’ve already lost interest) with links to all sorts of content but no support and no player. ok maybe i can get it through the non-mobile site somehow? no luck, there, either since my user-agent is not the current version of I CAN’T INSTALL ANY OF THESE ON A POCKETPC! if that weren’t annoying enough, i’m redirected to this page not with an http redirect but a meta refresh with a 0 timeout, which is hard to browse away from on a desktop and nearly impossible with a phone. meta refresh redirects are used by sadistic or incompetent web developers who want to turn the “back” browse action into “back (to the page that will redirect me back to this page that i was clearly trying to leave when i clicked the ‘back’ button).”

oh well-no pandas for me
