New PocketPC software

Microsoft recently released href="http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/downloads/activesync38.mspx">ActiveSync
3.8 and href="http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/downloads/voicecommand/updateversion.mspx">Voice
Command 1.5 for PocketPC. The ActiveSync update, as usual,
doesn’t really talk about what it adds except for doing things better
(let’s hope that I can finally start syncing between my work computer
which usually has some unrelased version of Office and home computer
which usually has the latest released Office) and venture into the
world of many conflicts and duplicated entries during sync.

I’m already excited about the Voice Command update, though. It adds
the ability to announce the incoming caller’s name, can respond to
“what time/date is it?” (useful when my phone is in its duct-tape
sheath), and ringer control settings. I also finally took the time to
move my Favorite shortcuts for bus schedule information into the start
menu so I can now say “start 242 to home” and it will launch the
browser to get the page with the href="http://www.mybus.org>mybus prediction for when my bus home will arrive. I should have done that a long time ago.

Nickosxom

I’ve convinced href="http://www.tcob.com/index.cgi/2005/01/05#blosxom">Nick to
start using Blosxom. In exchange
he gave me the tip that a capable touch’s -t option will let
me specify the time instead of “now” (which my Windows port does not
offer and which led me to believe I’m stuck with all my timestamps on
all my old blog entries being broken). Now I just need to see if I
can find all original files with timestamps somehow and I can get some
of this mess cleaned up!

What a difference 4″ can make

I just raised my monitors 4″ and it makes a huge difference! Why
didn’t I do this months ago?
