On the down-low

I haven’t written a whole lot in a while for a couple reasons
but not for lack of news. Over Christmas I saw my family, my parents’
new house, our adorable but old and ailing href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/slipperyp/sets/73569/">Bernese
Mountain Dogs, Tanya had her href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/slipperyp/2680416/">appendix taken
out, and met one of my high school friends’ baby href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000417/?fr=c2l0ZT1kZnxteD0yMHxzZz0xfGxtPTIwMHx0dD1vbnxwbj0wfHE9Y3Jpc3BpbnxodG1sPTF8bm09b24_;fc=2;ft=67;fm=1">Crispin. I
got a number of wonderful Christmas gifts including a tripod, href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0195161912/ref=pd_wt_1/002-2059087-8266435?coliid=I1XH5NPZO9MRD2">Garner,

of the Dial, and a feathery cat puppet that our real cat Jupiter
loves.

When we got back to Seattle we learned our friends Ang and
Greg are expecting a baby soon (it’s that time in our lives, eh?), we
got our annual href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/slipperyp/3211765/">snowfall,
work at work and home is already piling up pretty quickly, and
Washington href="http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/local/207695_governor13.html">swore
in a new governor in spite of the violent flip-flop by
conservatives who were happy with the results in Florida four years
ago but somewhat less happy about the results when their interests are
not served. Tanya went to the doctor today for her appendectomy
followup and it looks like she’s on track for a pretty standard
recovery which means a chunk out of her hockey and snowboarding season
but she’ll hopefully be recovered in time for the exhibition games in
February?

I think that’s about it…
