Graduation

Today is my last day in building 17 at Microsoft. I’m not actually going
anywhere but Office is moving. I’ve been on the same floor of the same building
in the same wing for over 5 years. Now it’s time to shut off my computer (and
isn’t it about time? I have 3966 hours 39 minutes racked up in System Idle
Process - really only 41 days after adjusting for dual CPU hyperthreaded, but
still a long time) pack up my chair and move on out. But it’s a brand new day
tomorrow and I’m on my way to visit my sister in DC for the first time since she
moved there a couple years ago.

Goodbye atrium.
Goodbye habitrails - you haven’t been the same since they took all your video
games away.
Goodbye shared cafeteria - I’ll miss walking outside to visit you.
Goodbye foosball tables - if ever we meet again I promise a sweaty palm.
Goodbye 17/2321 - I started with you, slept with you, and met some of my best
friends there.
Goodbye 17/2338 - I slept with you, too, and lost some good fish to your cool
breezes.
Goodbye 17/2320 - you were the base station for the Lucky Tooth.
Goodbye 17/2405 - the armpit of the building, I won’t miss you at all.
Goodbye 17/2280 - “Occupiable Space” 119.4′ sq.
Hello 36/4044 - I look forward to your luxurious view but that’s about all.
